As of the end of January, there were over 15 million netizens in Taiwan, according to the latest survey by the Taiwan Network Information Center (TWNIC).
The statistics shows that 68.5% of people above the age of 12 surf the Internet - an annual increase of 0.74%. The survey also demonstrates that 702 men in 1,000 browse the Internet: slightly more than women (668 in 1,000). Over 90% of people between the ages of 12 and 35 surf the Internet; and 17.89% of people over 56 log on.
