The Director of the Office of Migrant Workers in the State Council and the Vice Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Yang Zhiming, disclosed today that there are a total of 210 million migrant workers in China. According to preliminary statistics, in 2007, a migrant worker’s monthly wage was more than 1,000 yuan. From statistics, we can deduce that the wages of migrant workers account for 1 / 3 of their income; and more than half of their additional net income.
