According to reports, the deputy director of the Beijing BOCOG Olympic Village and Paralympics Village construction teams, Yu Debin, said on the 5th that the Olympic Village is complete. The Olympic Village will officially open on July 27 this year.
According to Yu Debin, the Olympic Village is located in the northwest corner of Beijing's Olympic Park. It can accommodate the living, training and entertainment needs of more than 16,000 athletes and officials. The village has a total construction area of 524,000 square meters; while the southern complex of athlete apartments occupies 27.55 hectares. The southern complex consists of 20 9-storey apartments, 22 6-storey apartments, 3 Super Centers, as well as 9 residential service centers. At the same time, the athlete’s apartment complex area is also equipped with restaurants, clinics, and other related services.
The temporary facilities in the northern part of Olympic Village provide Olympic and Paralympics Games athletes with services including registration, entertainment, restaurants, and fitness centers.
