After more than 10 years of painstaking research, a professor in Daqing, Heilongjiang Province developed a hardware and software system called the Multi-dimensional Chinese Learning Application system. These software and hardware products have already been certified by the National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (NOCFL); and have become NOCFL brand name products for TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language).
Prof. Qu Wanbo, chairman of Hong Guang Technologies Co., Ltd in the Daqing High-Tech Zone, has been involved in Chinese teaching for some time. In 1996, he began the difficult journey into Chinese learning innovation with high-tech personnel. He finished a 100 million-character-initial programme for the Multi-dimensional Chinese Learning Application System in 2005. Later, he gradually completed a series of Multi-dimensional Chinese learning Application System products, including multi-dimensional Chinese learning system, multi-dimensional Chinese character input system, multi-dimensional electronic character dictionary, standard dictionary and the Chinese idiom dictionary, as well as the research and development of Multi-dimensional Chinese Learning Application System Tutorials and the "Han Yu Tong"-Chinese learning machine. Currently, English, Russian, and Korean versions have been put into mass production; while other language versions are still under way.
