An agricultural vehicle turned over in the southwestern Province of Yunnan on Sunday afternoon, killing 11 people and injuring many others, said local police.

The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. in Sanchahe Town, about 70 km from the seat of Fengqing County, Lincang City, according to information from the general office of the city government.

The passengers were mostly local villagers and students back to school from weekend.

Some of the injured have been sent to hospitals in the county. Casualties are yet to report, police said.

Another expressway accident near Kunming, the provincial capital, claimed five lives and injured 22 others around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday after a coach, carrying 27 people including the driver, bumped into the railing and turned over, local police confirmed on Sunday.

One of the injured was in critical condition while the others were all out of danger.

Police blamed overspeed for the accident after initial investigation.
