Weather forecasters today brought joy to drought-plagued north and northeast China with news of forthcoming precipitation.

According to China Meteorological Administration (CMA), most areas of northeast China and eastern parts of north China's Inner Mongolia would experience snowy weather over the next three days. Some of these regions are forecast to get moderate or heavy snows.

Meanwhile, a stationary front would bring scattered rainfall across southern China and eastern parts of northwest China. Some of these areas would be showered by moderate or heavy rains, while eastern Tibet can expect snow or sleet.

Since the beginning of 2008, the average rainfall has been 5.5 mm in northern China's Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces, Inner Mongolia and other regions.
