On March 26, Taiwan designer Wu Yongjian signed an agreement with the Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai Normal University at the launch of the Creative Platform in the Design Factory of Shanghai Normal University. This was also the start of the first program of the Yongjian Designing Competition for the "Green China" Environment-friendly Bags Design.

After June 1, China will ban the production, sales and use of thin plastic shopping bags; and implement a system that requires payment for plastic shopping bags. Taiwan designer Wu Yongjian, in collaboration with Shanghai designers, hopes to design some cheap, stylish and beautiful bags for public use. Wu Yongjian is also the original designer of "Hai Bao," the mascot of the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
