According to Xinhua Online, a new route from Heihe, a border city in Heilongjiang Province, to Harbin and Beijing will officially open on March 30, as was announced at the news conference held by the Heilongjiang provincial government on March 27. This is the first route to Beijing from the Sino-Russian border port in Heilongjiang Province.
The Heihe - Harbin - Beijing flight will be provided by the Heilongjiang Branch of China Southern Airlines; and there will be a daily flight schedule between Heihe, Harbin and Beijing on the Airbus A320 model aircraft (156 seats).
A related official from the Heihe city government states that the opening of the new route will be crucial for the Sino-Russian tourism industry; and will strengthen the ties between inland China and Beijing as well as Russia.
