Track laying started on Friday on Beijing's No. 4 underground line, a second line running south to north in west Beijing.
Track laying on the 28-km-long line should be finished by February 2009, and the line is scheduled to go into operation on September 30, said a source from the Municipal Track Construction and Administrative Company.
