The number of Taiwan's online job seekers expecting to work on the Chinese mainland reached an over two-year high: 17,259 job seekers, according to a survey by the Taiwan 104 Job Bank.
The 104 Job Bank said if the direct flight across the Straits opens, the figure will be expected to reach 20,000. Those online job seekers will have better prospects in fields including electronic information, financial insurance, health care, wholesale and retail sales, and tourism.
The survey shows that recently, nearly 30,000 Taiwanese have been seeking jobs online.
