Beijing Municipal Government is going to unveil temporary environmental protection measures during the Beijing Olympic Games, in the near future, said Mr. Yu Xiaoxuan, Deputy Director of the Construction and Environment Department of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, on "Getting to Know" day by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG).
Yu said that the temporary regulations mainly include: controls on motor vehicle emissions, management of polluting building sites, halting production within enterprises which have not completed the designated harnessing task, and reduction of enterprises.
During the Beijing Olympics, although construction work being carried out on sites can not be halted, any work involving groundwork, cement mixing and casting material, which easily bring up dust, is prohibited, Yu added.
As a result, some of Beijing's construction projects are being adjusted so that the construction does not coincide or interfere with the Olympic Games.
