Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Highway Bridge passed its approval test on the 11th. The Approval Committee spoke highly of the Suzhou-Nantong Bridge, believing that it represented the highest form of bridge building.
Suzhou-Nantong Bridge has a span of 1,088 meters and ranks first in the world for among cable-stayed bridges with the deepest foundation, the highest tower, the longest cable, and the biggest long-span cable-stayed bridge. In March 2008, the International Bridge Conference (IBC) granted Suzhou-Nantong Bridge the George Richardson Award: China's first bridge to win this prize.
