Eight giant pandas in Wolong, Sichuan Province will head for Beijing on May 24 to welcome the Olympic Games. They will be in the Beijing Zoo for a six-month period.
The panda shelters in Beijing Zoo have been repaired to accommodate these new guests; and China Southern Airlines will send 50 flight attendants to provide visitor services.
Wang Yan, deputy director of Wolong National Nature Reserve, said on the 14th in Guangzhou that the eight carefully selected giant pandas are two years old - not only enough to reproduce.
