Video surveillance equipment will be installed at the gates of Beijing primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, according to a regulation issued by Beijing Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.
The regulation stipulates that 24-hour open video surveillance equipment should be installed at the main entrances of schools and kindergartens beginning April 28; intruder alarms should be installed at other entrances; and prevention measures and electronic alarm facilities, if necessary, should be positioned on the surrounding walls.
The regulations also mandate that alarm information should be immediately transmitted to the local police station and higher-level management; and alarm information records should be saved for no less than 30 days.
