Beijing's Xuanwu District plans to build the first intangible cultural heritage museum in Beijing——Xuanwu District Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, government of Beijing Xuanwu District announced on Apr 27, 2008.
Xuanwu District has substantial intangible cultural heritage resources. In recent years it has published 38 items on district-level intangible cultural heritage protection list; five people including Li Lianyuan have become the first listed representative successors of state-level intangible cultural heritage items.
"Changdian Temple Fair", "Tianqiao (Bridge of Heaven) Zhongfan juggling flag balancing performance," “playing diabolo" and "Rongbaozhai (Studio of Glorious Treasures) woodblock color printing" have become the first state-level intangible cultural heritage protection projects.
Xuanwu District Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum is to be built inside Huoshen Temple, a heritage conservation unit on the 29th of Liulichang East Street, covering an area of about 1,580 square meters.
