From this autumn, Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province will have the first batch of students who major in the horse racing industry, the Changjiang Daily reports.
Recently journalists learned from Wuhan Commercial Service College that the college will begin to enroll students to their newly founded horse racing major. This year, the college plans to recruit 40 P.E. students who will take part in the College Entrance Exam. The students in this major will study for three academic years.
According to the head of sports department, horse race industry professionals training includes event management and planning, horse care management, jockey training and so on.
The horse race industry major is co-founded by the Wuhan Sports Association, the Wuhan Jockey Club and the college. This personnel training project is the first in China's colleges.
According to the head, there are more than 200 equestrian clubs across China, but the market saturation of talent is only 10%. This personnel training project will help ease the shortage of professionals in the horse race industry.
