To date, the Beijing customs office in its eastern Chaoyang district gave a rapid "Olympic materials" acceptance check to a batch of temporary power and temperature control equipment in twenty 20-foot containers. So far, 101 containers of Olympic goods, which earlier arrived in Beijing's Chaoyang port, have completed customs procedures.

Beijing Customs "handles special cases with special methods," chief of the Customs said. It sets up a special Olympic goods clearance window and green channel, and the Olympic materials can have declaration and release upon their arrival. Those imported goods for the Olympics that belong to temporary import goods, are examined before their acceptance with the Letter of Guarantee by Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee, and will be shipped back overseas after the conclusion of the Olympic Games. Since the end of 2006, large quantities of supplies for the Olympic Games began to be imported. The Beijing Customs has taken a range of measures to spur the rapid clearance of goods and to enable them to enjoy tax exemption and reduction.
