Russia's second batch of humanitarian aid to quake-hit China arrived in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, by plane on Thursday morning.

The batch were 60.96 tonnes of tents, quilt and other materials in need.

The first batch of Russian aid, more than 24 tonnes of tents and quilts, reached Chengdu-based Shuangliu Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

The Sichuan provincial government said the relief materials would be airdropped to worst-hit areas as early as possible.

China appreciated Russia for its humanitarian aid, visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi told his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Yekaterinburg, Russia, on Wednesday.
