Nearly 200 foreign diplomatic envoys arrived in Beijing on the 15th at the Cultural Palace of Nationalities to see the major themed exhibition, "Tibet past and present."

The exhibition demonstrates the great changes that have taken place in Tibet through 160 displays, more than 400 pictures and a variety of audio and video information. This exhibit enables foreign diplomatic envoys to "live through" the history of Tibet which has experienced rapid development and the vicissitudes of life. Nearly 300 foreign diplomatic envoys from over 130 countries and nine international organizations participated in the exhibition. This activity lasts two days and ends on the 16th.

Many foreign envoys told reporters that they were grateful for the opportunity to understand Tibet. After attending the exhibition, the Cuban ambassador in China, Carlos Miguel Pereira Hernandez, said that this exhibition has made him even more deeply impressed by today's Tibet in its harmonious peace and the comprehensive development it achieved. The Cuban Government's attitude on the Tibet issue is clear: it supports the Chinese Government's position and is against the interference of other countries into China's internal affairs.

Chilean Ambassador Fernando Reyes Matta told reporters that he was very satisfied with this exhibition which combined material objects, pictures, audio and videos. It not only shows Tibetan historical and cultural traditions, but also contributes to a comprehensive understanding of Tibet's development and changes. Foreign diplomats have also expressed their recognition of Tibet's development and good wishes to the Chinese people.
