Sichuan Finance has allocated 670 million yuan in emergency disaster relief funds for affected areas.

By 16:00, May 15, the devasting earthquake in Wenchuan county in southwest China had left 19,509 people dead, 102,103 injuried, 12,323 buried in Sichuan Province. By then, 13,465 people had been rescued from the rubble.

At present, rescue and relief work is in high gear: more than 100,000 PLA, armed police and firefighters, 1,235 medical rescue groups, hundreds of professional rescue teams and volunteers are fighting day and night on the front lines of earthquake relief.
