Seven workers were killed and one injured in a cave-in at a drainage facility construction site Sunday evening in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a government spokesman said on Monday.
The collapse happened at a roadside drainage construction site at Hong Miaozi Town of Chifeng City, at around 6:20 p.m. Sunday, said Guo Xiangdong, the spokesman of the local authority.
The injured worker is receiving treatment in hospital, according to the spokesman.
The local government has launched investigation of the accident.
