One authoritative survey reveals that the salary of university graduates working in IT companies is proportional to their education background. The higher academic qualifications they possess, they more they earn. Employees with a Doctorate degree earn more than double of those with an undergraduate.
Among the major factors (educational background, concentration, university, gender, enterprise, and post) having an influence on the starting salary of employees working at IT enterprises in Haidian Park of Beijing Zhongguancun Science Park, educational background is the most important factor. The average monthly salary of junior college graduates, undergraduates, masters and doctors are 2,307 yuan, 2,767 yuan , 4,317 yuan and 5,731 yuan respectively.
The survey also shows that in IT businesses, the starting salary for science and engineering graduates is higher than that of graduates in the arts. There are also gaps in starting salary among graduates from different schools; and the starting salary for male employees is higher than that for female employees.
