A bus-truck collision in the northern Shanxi Province that left 22 dead and injured two was caused by an illegal overtaking by the truck, according to sources with the Shuozhou City government on Wednesday.
An initial investigation found the truck, with two aboard, veered into the opposite lane while overtaking before it collided head-on with the bus in Shuozhou at about 6:50 a.m. Tuesday.
Among the dead were 22 people, all on the bus, including a child. Two others were injured and described "in stable condition."
