Seven people were killed and several others buried in a landslide in Luliang of north China's Shanxi Province on Friday, the local government said.

The landslide occurred at 10:20 a.m. on a mountain in the Shang'an village. It devastated a nearby brick factory and buried more than 10 workers.

One of the workers has been rescued. The exact number of buried workers was not available yet.

More than 300 rescuers and 20 machines have been summoned to search for the workers.

Luliang City's Communist Party chief Nie Chunyu rushed to the site and set up the rescue headquarters soon after the accident.
