Taiwan tourists injured in a bus accident in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province were transferred on Monday to a nearby city in the province for better treatment.
The 11 injured, accompanied by their fellow tourists, were transported by ambulance on Monday afternoon from Tongjiang City to the Central Hospital in Jiamusi City.
They were "in stable condition," according to doctors at the hospital.
A bus carrying 29 Taiwan tourists plunged into a roadside ditch in Heilongjiang on Monday morning, leaving one person dead and more than 10 others injured, said local police.
The deceased, Zhu Songchuan, 68, died at the scene of head injuries.
An initial investigation showed that the bus was trying to avoid a farm vehicle when the accident happened.
The injured were sent to the Tongjiang People's Hospital immediately.
The mainland's Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) on Monday wrote to the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) to report the accident and the handling of the aftermath, sources said.
The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the ARATS paid careful attention to the accident. The ARATS dispatched an official to assist in handling the accident.
The ARATS asked the SEF to report the accident and its aftermath to relatives of those involved as soon as possible.
Further investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
