The State Council recently approved the establishment of the bonded port of Qinzhou in Guangxi Province, making it the sixth bonded port following Shanghai Yangshan, Tianjin, Dongjiang, Dalian Dayaowan, Hainan Yangpu, and Ningbo Meishan; and is the only bonded port in China's central and western regions.

The construction work of the Qinzhou Bonded Port will be divided into three phases. The first phase starts this year and is expected to operate by the end of 2009. The construction work of the second and third phase will depend on the bonded port's development progress.
