A Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR government delegation headed by Chief Executive, Ho Hau Wah, Friday flew to the quake-hit Sichuan Province in the Chinese mainland for a three-day visit.

Ho's visit will be joined by Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, Tsang Yan-kuen, who also led an official delegation to the province.

During the visit, the two SAR chief executives will meet and console the quake victims, and learn about the situations of the areas severely damaged by the disaster, according to a Macao SAR government statement released earlier.

The Macao SAR government also said that the two delegations will also hold meetings with provincial and central government officials in Sichuan, discussing the arrangements and procedures for the two SARs to participate in the post-disaster reconstruction.

Macao has planned to establish a working group designated to coordinate the financial and material support to the reconstruction efforts in Sichuan, according to the SAR government.

So far, Macao has delivered tons of relief supplies to Sichuan, and sent two medical teams to assist work at hospitals in the province.
