In the past week, more than 40 officials and technical staff went to the county of Huatugou in the Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the city of Delingha in the Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and other places to look for and inspect potential sites for three feeder airports to be built. Investigators will come from the Qinghai Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Northwest Branch of the Civil Aviation Airport Construction Corporation, Air Traffic Management Bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Northwest China branch, Centre of Aviation Safety Technology CAAC, Qinghai Geological Engineering Investigation Institute, Qinghai Airport Construction Command Bureau and other organizations, as reported by China National Radio.

Experts believe that an extension of the airport in Qinghai is an immediate need. Investigation groups will hand in detailed reports as soon as possible to provide an effective and reliable basis for the design.
