The extension project of Line 3 of the Dalian rapid railway, carried out by the China Railway Electrification Bureau (Group) Co.,Ltd.(CREB) in Xi'an and other companies, began trial operations on July 8. By then, Dalian's urban rail transport lines will total 88 kilometers, ranking among the leading cities in urban rail transport construction.

The extension of Line 3 of the DaLian rapid railway received an investment of 1.87 billion yuan, runs a length of 14.3 km, and the designed speed is 120 kilometers per hour. The line starts south from the Development Zone Station and runs north to Jiuli station in Jinzhou. The line includes seven stations, and it is the rapid main road linking the Development Zone and Jinzhou Dalian Area.
