According to the Beijing Evening News, the Chaoyang District Travel Advisory Call Center officially opened on the morning of July 29. This is the first comprehensive travel advisory organization in the country that has a three-way calling function and provides tourism services in 10 languages, including English, French, German, Japanese, and Korean. One can dial 4006854006 from any location in the country to receive free advice on all kinds of information on travel, booking hotels and airline tickets, and more. Especially for the Chinese and foreign travelers who are coming to Beijing from other places to see the Olympics, the call center will provide very detailed travel advisory services. Whether one needs information on the best route to take to arrive at an Olympic venue or on the notable restaurants and hotels near Olympic venues, all that is needed is a simple phone call.
"We have worked together with Chaoyang District Minor Language Call Center to provide seamlessly integrated services," said Yang Caiqing, director of the Chaoyang District Travel Advisory Call Center. "Whenever a foreign traveler calls our center to ask for travel information, we can immediately connect them with our volunteers from the Minor Language Call Center on a three-way call, ensuring that callers can receive services that are as quick and accurate as possible."
Beijing residents can also dial the call center for free advisory services and understand travel services for places around the country. Through the call center, they can book hotels that offer promotional prices; for example, they can book a starred hotel in Beijing for about 40 percent lower than the original price.
