More than 100 journalists will visit the Sixth Armored Division of the Beijing Military Command on Friday morning as the People's Liberation Army welcomes its81st founding anniversary.

The Division, the first PLA unit to be fully equipped with Chinese made tanks, armored vehicles and artillery, is one of China's elite land forces.

A total of 103 journalists reporting the Beijing Olympics will visit the division's weapons and large-scale military exercises conducted by the division, officials said.

Among them are 48 foreign journalists from 30 media organizations including Reuters, the Los Angeles Times and Kyodo.
