The tickets for the Shanghai World Expo 2010 will be on sale from September 28 at the benchmark price of 160 yuan (about 23.50 U.S. dollars) for a set, according to Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.
First presale of tickets are set aside for groups. He said that this is the benchmark price. Tickets will be sold using various methods and price fluctuations will occur according to ticket purchase time, group of people and visitation period. Seniors, disabled people, students, children and military personnel will receive a discount.
It is estimated that 70 million people will visit the Expo. So far, 214 countries and international organizations had confirmed their participation in the event.
