The death toll from a bus plunge in central China has risen to 15 with five others in critical condition, government sources said late Friday.

The bus with 35 aboard veered off a mountain road into a ravine in Mianchi County, Henan Province at about 2 p.m. on Friday, the county government said.

Among the 20 injured in hospital, five were in critical condition. Seven, including an 8-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries and the rest were in stable condition.

The cause of accident is still being investigated.
