The 6.1-magnitude earthquake that jolted southwest China's Sichuan and Yunnan provinces on Saturday had killed 32 people and destroyed some 258,000 houses as of 11 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Sichuan reported 27 deaths and the others were in Yunnan. A total of 467 were injured, the ministry said, citing figures from the civil affairs departments of the two provinces.
About 152,000 people were evacuated to safe places.
