China has ordered schools to report group travels to local education authorities and seek approval before setting out.
Schools should arrange personnel to escort students on vehicles, select safe routes and examine the qualifications of drivers, vehicles and transport companies, said a notice issued by the Office of Work Safety Commission under the State Council on Wednesday.
The notice also orders strengthening implementation of traffic rules on all sorts of vehicles.
The coming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday are expected to witness a surge in travels.
