Following the discovery of institution during the Tang and Song dynasties and ancient city ruins of Han Dynasty at the end of this July, a city canal with width of 18 meters of the Han Dynasty was found.
The remains of the city canal run east-west. Dug by men, the river was 2 to 4 meters deep, and about 70 meters of canal has been cleared.
Inside the bank there is a small amount of sludge, containing many broken tiles and pottery objects of Han Dynasty. There is a small amount of sludge of the Tang Dynasty and Jin Dynasties, showing that the river has been used till the Tang Dynasty.
"Even if the canal were the Ling Canal of Qin Dynasty, it would be only 5 to 6 meters wide. With human and material resources at that time; the city canal of the Han Dynasty more than 10 meters wide is a very huge project," experts said.
