Beijing Capital International Airport is expected to handle about 1.07 million passengers during next week's National Day holiday, up 7 percent from last year and a record high.

The holiday runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5. Total departing and arriving flights will reach 8,373, up 16 percent from last year, said an official from the Beijing Capital International Airport Company on Friday.

He forecast that the peak travel day would be Sept. 29, with about 180,000 passengers, while Oct. 5 would have the most flight sat about 1,300.
