China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) said on Saturday that although the tourism safety situation had remained stable nationwide up to date, 80 people had died in tourism accidents since the beginning of this year.

Altogether 391 people got hurt and 4 were missing in 33 tourism accidents, of which 27 were tourism transportation accidents, according to CNTA's latest statistics.

The tourism watchdog called on relevant local authorities to be alert to the safety work, formulate emergency management plans and prevent tourism accidents during the coming one-week National Day holiday which starts from Sept. 29.
