According to the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, since June, a number of world's top 500's headquarters and their subsidiary companies have founded 3370 trade unions in China, covering 2.01 million members, improving the uninon penetration rate to 82%. 115 trade uninions were founded in the headquarters of those companies like Canon, Sony and ABB.

At present 483 of world's top 500 enterprises have developed their business in China. These enterprises have more than 4100 subsidiary companies and 365 corporate headquarters.

Due to the complex structure and the policy of "headquarter economy", any of the top 500 could have many headquarters and subsidiary corporate companies in China. Most of them, however, did not establish trade unions.

According to statistics, 50% of world's top 500 did not have trade unions before June 2008.
