More than 33,000 talents from overseas and the Chinese mainland have been attracted to live and work in Hong Kong in 2007, and the number increased nearly 100% than 5 years ago, Donald Tsang, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR said on October 15.

In his policy address to the Legislative Council of Hong Kong SAR, Tsang said that Hong Kong has been carrying out open and convenient policy on the introduction of talents. In order to expand the human resource of Hong Kong, the SAR government advanced "the admission of talents scheme" in June of 2006, and relaxed the limitation of this scheme in January of 2008. So far, more than 700 applications have been approved.
