According to a report released by an Internet survey company, by the end of September this year, sellers who trade through online platforms such as Taobao, Paipai and EachNet had amounted to 1.17 million, and these platforms had created 420,000 job opportunities. Amongst them, Taobao has directly created jobs for nearly 380,000 people and indirectly offered employment opportunities to about 1 million people.
Statistics from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security show that the surplus labor force in urban area this year reaches 24 million, but only a little more than 12 million job opportunities are available.
