China's imports and exports exceed US $2 trillion in first ten months

China's total imports and exports from January to October reached US $2.18867 trillion, a year on year increase of 24.4%, statistics from the General Administration of Customs show.

The figure has surpassed the total value of imports and exports in 2007, which was US $2.1741 trillion.

Exports stood at US $1.20233 trillion, up 21.9% and imports were US $986.34 billion, up 27.6%.

The accumulated trade surplus reached US $215.99 billion. China's imports and exports in general trade saw rapid growth, with a substantial increase in import growth. Imports and exports in processing trade rose by 12.9% during the same period.
