With the help from all levels of government, education for Jino ethnic minority, the last ethnic minority recognized by China, has been developing vigorously in recent years.
At present, the education system has taken shape with junior elementary schools in mountain villages, senior elementary schools in villages, and high schools in towns. The enrollment rate for Jinuo children of school age has reached 100%.
The Jino ethnic minority group has a population only over 20,000, majority of them living in Jino Village near Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, in Yunnan Province. The Jino ethnic minority group moved directly from primitive society to the initial stages of socialism after the founding of People's Republic of China.
