Police have arrested 30 people involved in the violent protest in northwest China's Gansu Province, a local official said Thursday.

The violent protest was put under control and the social order returned normal in the Wudu District of Longnan City, where a group of petitioners attacked local government buildings on Monday and Tuesday, said Lu Xuechun, the city's deputy Party chief at a press conference.
