Flags and large posters used to publicize the Beijing Olympics are to be recycled into decoration and other items in everyday use, said an official with the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (BOCOG) on Friday.

Zhao Dongming, the BOCOG cultural activities director, said the materials would be designed to make more than ten kinds of articles, including cushions, pillows, vests and newspaper stands, the Beijing Morning Post reported on Saturday.

Zhao said the BOCOG had thought about the reuse of those materials before the Games.
