When we come to Bajia's house, the 27-year-old driver from Mingzhu Construction Company in Riwoqe County of Chamdo Prefecture is enjoying buttered tea and TV programme in the commodious living room with his 3-year-old daughter on his legs.

Bajia was a truck driver without his own car before he came to the company for work and he lived in a wooden shed as he didn't have stable income. "I really live a hard life at that time," said Bajia when talking about his past life.

It was in 2006 that Bajia entered Mingzhu Construction Company for his excellent driving skill and since then, his life has been changed a lot: he has moved into a storied building constructed for employees and then bought a color TV set, a refrigerator and some furniture after fitting up his new house.

The accompanied Kunga Gyaltsen, director of Mingzhu Construction Company told us their company is the first non-state run enterprise of construction circle and was funded in 2000. Boasting fixed assets of two million yuan including 1.28 million funded by the central government, Mingzhu Construction Company has over 80 employees and more than 10 construction machines.

"We mainly employ those needy locals and every common worker can get a salary of 1,500 yuan monthly and we have offered six million yuan for salary since our foundation," Kunga Gyaltsen said.

This year, with heavier support from the local government and the construction of national highway 214, Mingzhu Construction Company has extended its business as the it has built offices for five village committees and bought some modern machines with a total value of 1.5 million yuan.

"We become busy now, but we have more earnings and my family really enjoy their current life," said Bajia.
