Beijing to start construction of 8.5 mln sq. meters of welfare housing next year

Beijing will further increase construction of welfare housing and price-limited housing, in an attempt to realize a new goal of 8.5 million square meters of policy-related housing next year.

The Kangzhuang welfare housing and price-limited housing project in Daxing District, Beijing, recently began construction. It marks the start of the construction task of welfare housing and price-limited housing in Beijing for 2008, covering an area of 8 million square meters.

Among the projects there are 24 that encompass affordable and functional housing, totaling 3.015 million square meters, while 24 projects involve price-limited housing, covering 4.515 million square meters.
