Influenced by the international economic situation, the number of people returning to Xi'an from abroad next year will reach about 1,000, according to experts.
Since 2000, Xi'an has had about 2,000 students study abroad for four to five years every year. The rate of return, however, has only been around 30%.
It is predicted that next year may be "the year of return" for people studying abroad, with the estimated number of people returning to Xi'an reaching 1,000.
