2008 Selection of College Students of the Year kicks off |

"Selection of College Students of the Year," a campaign already in its fourth consecutive year, recently kicked off.
The contest is jointly organized by People's Daily Online and the magazine "China Campus," with support from the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Communist Youth League, and the Education, Science and Culture Department of the People's Daily.
The candidates include college students who took part in the torch relay on Mount Qomolangma, the first group of national defense students who offered assistance to disaster areas, as well as students bearing honorary titles such as "Model for National Earthquake Relief" and "National Outstanding College Student."
The three-stage selection process consists of registration through recommendation, selection by voting, followed by award unveiling and presentation.
Through public voting combined with expert reviews, college students will determine their runners-up, finalists and 10 winners of the "People of the Year" distinction. Log on to the official campaign website (http://stu.people.com.cn/) to register.
