Guangzhou will establish a “Special Fund for High-Level Talent." Overseas elites who come to Guangzhou to establish businesses will receive a maximum of 5 million yuan as capital support.
On the afternoon of December 8, Zhang Guangning, mayor of Guangzhou, held an executive meeting of the Guangzhou Municipal Government. "Several Opinions for Encouraging Overseas High-Level Talents to Work and Start Businesses in Guangzhou" were approved. As a result, Guangzhou will set up a special fund to attract high-level talents from overseas.
In the special fund, the supporting fund for the early stages of business increased from the original 100,000 yuan to a maximum of 5 million yuan. For talents engaged in technological development projects, a maximum of 5 million yuan of equity investment will be provided. For enterprises that receive legally-registered risk investment or venture capital, a maximum of 5 million yuan will be granted as awards, and for those who invest in finance, medical care, architectural design, legal services, accounting, consultation or any other modern service business in Guangzhou, a maximum of 1 million yuan will be granted as expense subsidies.
